Please know you are taking a risk when booking these adventures. It shows a lot about a company how they handle things when the day does not go as planned. I chose this company because they seemed like a small company who truly cared about their customers when in actuality they treat you as a transaction. What they offered was a token and did not make me feel they cared. I was not asking to be refunded any of the expenses of tour guide, gas etc and was only hoping for a fair refund.
I was hoping a company with such good reviews would stand by their reputation and make their customers happy. Out of a 13 hour day, we spent 10 hours in the car. The drive back was dangerous and the sights we were driven to were basically a drive by. The winds were blowing the sand so hard it physically hurt to get out of the car. This should be something that is checked before picking up clients.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 2:42 that morning. The most disappointing aspect of this was that i called a few days earlier with weather concerns asking to change our date and was assured that it would be fine. When we went back to check in at Antelope Canyon, they canceled all tours for remainder of day due to weather. Understandably extra travel time needs to be built in BUT they should have a contingency if you are on time as we were. We were up at 4:30am ready for a 5:00am departure only to arrive 2 hours early at our destination. What we thought was going to be the highlight of our vacation ended up being the low point.
